THE SCREEN IN THE RIGHT PLACE

TV mounting and installation
in London

We mount televisions, fit suitable brackets and discuss cable tidying for homes and workplaces across London and the M25. We review the screen, wall construction and intended position before installation, then check the fitted arrangement. Tell us about the TV model, bracket and cable route so the booking reflects the complete job.

Tell us what is being fitted and where it will go.

FIT. CHECK. FINISH.

Start with how the room is used

We discuss where you want the screen and how it relates to seating, furniture and access to connections. A preferred height on a blank wall may change once a low cabinet, doorway or side seating is considered. We agree the proposed location before making mounting points rather than assume every living room needs the same arrangement.

Send a photograph of the wall and the furniture around it. Tell us which devices need to connect to the screen and where they will sit. Those details help us discuss both the physical installation and the cable arrangement. We do not prescribe one viewing distance for every television: the screen, room and way it is used need to be considered together, with your preferred position forming the starting point.

The bracket must suit the television

We check the TV model, dimensions, weight and manufacturer mounting information against the proposed bracket. A fixed bracket and an adjustable one give different positioning options and have different clearances. Tell us whether you already have the bracket or need to discuss supplying one, and include its product information with the enquiry.

We review the bracket and relevant screen connections before fitting. The mounting points, supplied components and access to sockets or ports need to work together once the television is on the wall. A bracket in a sealed box is not automatically confirmed as suitable for every screen. If a required component or compatible fitting is missing, we explain what is needed rather than improvise an unsuitable connection simply to complete the appointment.

The wall is part of the installation

We assess mounting requests for different wall types, including masonry, plasterboard, concrete and tiled surfaces. The appropriate method depends on the actual supporting construction, fixing positions and screen arrangement. Photographs and known wall details are useful, but the visible finish alone does not establish how the television should be supported.

Let us know about previous holes, earlier mounting work or concealed services you are aware of. We inspect the relevant area and discuss the proposed fixing method before proceeding. An adjustable bracket also needs to be considered in its intended positions, not only when folded against the wall. If the wall or chosen location needs different preparation or support, we explain that requirement and agree the next step before fitting the screen.

Allow for the size of the screen

We discuss handling requirements before confirming the booking. Larger or awkward screens may need two technicians to raise and position them without unnecessary strain on the television, bracket or surrounding room. Tell us the dimensions and weight where available, where the screen is currently located and how it will reach the mounting area.

The working space needs to allow us to review the bracket and connect the screen, not merely stand in front of the wall. Furniture beneath the position, narrow access and a screen already fixed elsewhere can affect the visit. Explain whether an existing television or bracket is being removed as part of the job. We assess that work separately from an installation involving a new screen already available beside a clear wall.

Decide the cable route before fitting

Our service includes cable tidying with trunking and enquiries about hiding suitable cables within a plasterboard wall. Tell us which option you want before booking, together with the devices, connection points and desired finish. A request to mount a screen does not automatically include every cable-management method or alteration to the room.

We assess the practical route and the type of connections involved, then discuss the work required. Cable concealment within plasterboard does not include painting under the published TV installation description. New or altered electrical connections need the appropriate specialist rather than being treated as ordinary cable tidying. We can discuss related electrical fixes and installations when your proposed setup needs more than the existing accessible connections.

Measure the position, then fit the support

We review the agreed location, prepare the immediate area and protect relevant surfaces as appropriate. We check measurements and the mounting arrangement before installing the supports, then secure the screen using the appropriate product fittings. The installation is carried out in a sequence that allows the bracket, connections and handling to be considered together.

Where the bracket allows movement, we review its intended use and clearances once the television is fitted. Cable length and access need to suit the agreed arrangement. We discuss any issue that affects movement or connection rather than allow a cable to decide where the screen can sit after the fixing work is finished. Extra devices or a different bracket introduced during the appointment require discussion if they change the work that was booked.

Check the setup as an installation

Before finishing, we review the screen’s position, alignment, relevant connections and the mounted arrangement. We check the bracket operation where applicable and look at how the cable tidying relates to the finished setup. The work is reviewed against the installation agreed at booking rather than assume that mounting includes unrelated home-network or entertainment-system configuration.

We go through the completed work with you or a nominated contact, including access to the relevant connections and any remaining finishing work. If decoration is required after a cable route has been concealed, identify that as separate work. We can discuss painting and decorating alongside the installation where appropriate, but a fresh paint finish should not be assumed to form part of the basic TV fitting.

The details we need before arrival

Send the television model, size and bracket information, along with photographs of the proposed wall. Explain whether the screen is new, standing on furniture or already mounted elsewhere. Include the cable-management request and any devices that need to connect. These details help us plan the work without treating important additions as last-minute extras.

For flats and managed properties, tell us about stairs, lifts, parking and building restrictions. Tenants should agree permission for drilling, cable routes or changes to the wall before the appointment. Keep access to the mounting area available and identify a person who can confirm the position. We can discuss an installation when you cannot attend, but the relevant decisions and handover arrangements still need to be agreed.

  • Send the TV model, dimensions and bracket specification.
  • Photograph the full wall and nearby furniture or connections.
  • Describe the desired cable route and connected devices.
  • Mention existing equipment to remove and difficult access.

A considered wall, not just one screen

A television installation may be part of a larger room arrangement. You might want a shelf for associated equipment, artwork positioned nearby or blinds fitted in the same property. Give us the full list before booking so we can discuss fixings, handling and the relevant sequence rather than discover separate mounting jobs after the screen has been installed.

Our picture hanging and mounting service covers suitable artwork and office displays. We can consider that work alongside the TV request, while keeping the support requirements of each item separate. Combining tasks does not mean that all walls, hardware or trades use the same method or rate. We review the list and explain any need for another technician or specialist before the appointment is confirmed.

Time-based rates for the actual setup

The screen, bracket, wall and cable-management requirements affect the amount of work. We discuss those details rather than attach a fixed installation duration to every television. Standard handyman appointments Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm, start at £83 for the first hour with a one-hour minimum, followed by £36 per subsequent half hour. The published half-day and full-day labour rates are £256 and £456 for up to four and eight hours.

Labour includes taxes; materials, a bracket to be supplied and agreed sourcing are additional. Other appointment bands and any specialist electrical work have separate rates. Any parking cost is added only when incurred; the congestion charge may apply where attendance by scooter is not possible. The published prices and conditions give the full details, including sourcing charges and the policy asking for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a visit.

BEFORE YOU ARRANGE THE VISIT

A few practical answers.

Can you supply a TV bracket?

We can discuss supplying a bracket if you do not already have one. Send the TV model and the arrangement you want. The product, material cost and any sourcing requirements need agreement before the appointment.

Can you install a television on plasterboard?

We assess plasterboard installations along with the actual wall construction, screen and bracket. Known wall information helps, but the support method is decided against the real mounting area. We do not confirm suitability from the painted finish alone.

Is painting included after hiding cables?

Painting is not included in the published description of cable concealment in plasterboard. Tell us about the finish you want so related decoration can be discussed separately rather than assumed to be part of the basic installation.

Will one technician fit a large screen?

Handling requirements depend on the size, weight and access. Larger or awkward televisions may need two technicians. Provide the model and photographs of the area so the booking can be assessed before anyone arrives.

Can you reuse my existing bracket?

We review the bracket against the television, wall and intended position. Send its product details and photographs. An existing bracket is not automatically suitable for a different screen or a changed mounting arrangement.

Can I add shelves or artwork to the same visit?

We can discuss suitable additional mounting work when you provide the full list in advance. Each item’s wall, fittings and handling still need assessment. Extra work or specialist connections may change the appointment requirements.
